Oooops….wrong water tanks
– The search goes on for Ministry of Health missing water tanks
OOPS … they are the wrong ones.
Island Sun has now verified that Rota Mould water tanks spotted around the Tasahe area, west Honiara, at the weekend belong to Gizo/Kolombangara Constituency, according to the person whose area is being used to store the tanks.
There are 144, waiting to be shipped to communities in the Gizo Kolombangara Constituency, Western Province, the person said.
They were being stored in the area as the supplier no longer has space to accommodate them.
As it is, the search by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services for 34 Rota Mould water tanks, picked up from the supplier since Easter this year, would continue.
Inquiries would focus on Island Tank Ltd, the supplier, to establish the identity of who picked up the tanks.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, Dr Tenneth Dalipada, warned on the weekend that any Ministry staff found to be involved in the missing water tanks saga would be dealt with “appropriately.”
Dr Dalipada said he was seeking an explanation from the head of the Ministry’s Environment and Health Division.
