New Ombudsman Mr Fred Fakari’i

FRED Fakari’I is the country’s new Ombudsman following the retirement of former Ombudsman Joe Porowai. Mr Fakari’i has been a long time public servant who has served as a Ministry Permanent Secretary and as a Provincial Secretary. He was the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Home Affairs and then later, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury in 2014. It is understood that Mr Fakari’I took up office as of yesterday.
