Australian High Commissioner to visit Gizo this month over market project

THE Australian High Commissioner in Solomon Islands will visit Gizo on the 31st this month to work on the progress of the huge market project for the town.

Amount funded for the new Gizo Market project is SBD$18-million.

Ms Fiona Hoggart the Australian High Commission Counsellor foreshadowing the Australian High Commissioner’s visit by the end of this month expressed to the Premier of Western Province Hon Wayne Maepioh the excitement of the Australian High Commissioner to visit.

“He is very excited to come down to Western Province as an important province that has the potential for economic growth in the tourism sector of Solomon Islands,” said Ms Hoggart.

The Western Province Premier in response to the Counsellors foretells during their courtesy meeting acknowledged Australia on behalf of the people of Western Province and said that their continuous assistance is a big sign of friendship the Australian Government has.
