Lauru Peoples Association to host AGM next week
THE Lauru Peoples Association (LPA) has appealed to all Choiseul people living in and around Honiara to gather on Whit Monday 5 June 2017.
This came as an announcement made by the association’s caretaker President Shepard Lapo.
The LPA will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on the stated date and will also go into electing new LPA office bearers.
“This meeting has been agreed from our previous LPA Meeting held on the 17 April 2017.
“It is because so that I am appealing to all good people of Lauru to come to this very important meeting to elect our new executive and straight after the election we will go straight into fundraising to support the Lauru Kuvozo FC that are coming up to participate at the Solomon Cup here in Honiara in June,” the statement said.
Mr Lapo extended his appeal to have all Lauru people within Honiara to strongly render their support in whatever way possible to make sure there is a well-organized fundraising for the Lauru Kuvozo FC.
“I am inviting you to bring all your families to come out and enjoy this day and also to support our Lauru Kuvozo FC fundraising organised by the LPA.
“Lastly I am humbly asking you to pass on this message to all our good people of Lauru in Honiara,” said Shepard Lapo.
Caretaker Chair Mr Lapo will preside over the scheduled meeting commencing 8am on the 5 of June and the Caretaker Secretary Moses Pelomo will be the Master of Ceremony.
All attendees are encouraged to pay their annual membership fees of $20 to participate in the election of the LPA new office bearers.
The meeting will be held at the Museum Auditorium and is an all-day program.
