THE Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening is under pressure as the government unable to approve the bid to host the 2017 Premier Conference.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Provincial Government and Institution Strengthening Mr Stanley Pirione said proposed bid for the 2017 Premier conference as well as the provincial elections of Western and Choiseul province have been withdrawn.

He said his ministry has submitted a bid worth of 12 million for the two programmes but was turned down by the government.

Mr Pirione stressed that the withdrawal of the bid will badly affect the Ministry’s plan to successfully execute the two programmes this year.

He said the 2017 Premier Conference is proposed to be held in Malaita province.
