THE Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening programme is determined to further expand Community governance and Grievance Management Project to other provinces.

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Provincial Government and Strengthening Programme Mr Stanley Pirione said a sustainability study has been carried out to find potential outcome for the expansion of the project to other provinces.

He said the community development programme has been piloted in Rennell/Bellona and Makira/Ulawa provinces.

According to World Bank, the project is aimed at employing community officers to help chiefs, elders and church, women, youth and community leaders to resolve disputes within communities.

The project is implemented by the Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening (MPGIS) in partnership with the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF).
