Who is AGGRI-GRAZZIN?

 

THE Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has confirmed that they have launched an investigation into the alleged misused of fund by officials from Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.

In an exclusive interview with Island Sun yesterday Commissioner of Police Operation Mr Gabriel Manelusi said RSIPF has received a formal complaint and now investigation is underway.

“Yes the police is working on the complaint,” he said.

Mr Manelusi said the police is seriously looking into the complaint and that they are pursuing the truth behind the complaint.

However he said it is too early to give details as allegations thrown to the Ministry is currently under tough investigation.

This paper managed to obtain a copy of the Police Statements and reason supporting the allegations.

The Police Statement was transcribed and signed by Police Constable PC (540) Mr Christian Kanap on September 26, 2016.

Document shows that the case was reported by Mr Andrew Folia, who had carried out his private investigation on the concerned Ministry last year.

In an interview with this paper on Wednesday this week, Mr Folia said he has provided evidence to police investigators to follow up on the information he has discovered on the alleged abuse of public funds meant for rural farmers.

He also provided documents to Island Sun to prove his allegation that senior public officers and their accomplices have procured funds meant for livestock projects to a private registered company which Folia claimed they are signatories to.

“This is a pure conflict of interest and abuse of public funds.

“Enough is enough. It is time we weed out such selfish action by public officers who get rich overnight at the expenses of poor rural farmers who are the backbone of our economy,” Mr Folia said.

He said his investigation had uncovered a well-established network between top officials within the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock as well as individuals from the Ministry of Communication and Aviation.

According to Mr Folia’s investigation, the Network led to an establishment of a private company called AGGRI-GRAZZIN Ltd in 2012.

Document sighted by this paper shows the company, AGGRI-GRAZZIN Ltd has an account at the Australia and New Zealand Banking (ANZ) with an account number 4890623.
