Miss Solomon Islands joins SIVB
MISS Solomon Islands Camilla Grossmith joined the Solomon Islands Visitors and is now the face of Solomon Islands tourist destination to the outside world.
The SIVB has engaged 23-year-old Camilla Grossmith in its marketing strategy this year as a role model to promote Solomon Islands to other parts of the world.
Visitors Bureau made an official welcome and now works on activities that she will be engaged on for the first two months, particularly a road show event coming up this month.
The Marketing Manager for SIVB, Freda Unusi said involvement of Camilla with Visitors Bureau is not only for marketing purposes but being a face to empower gender equality in Solomon Islands.
“We are not only to promote Solomon Islands but gender wise, how all can participate and talk about the Solomons, and share what we passionate about in developing tourism locally and internationally,” Mrs Unusi said.
Camilla said despite the task being new to her, she is honoured and is looking forward to make the most of it, thanking SIVB for setting the opportunity.
“I have never actually been involved in any short of tourism opportunities, so this would be a great experience for me and it will really help me to do duties I know my country would be proud of.”
Camilla said last year’s trip to Samoa during the South Pacific Pageant contest had been an eye opener in which she learnt many knowledge and skills relevant to promote Solomons under her crown as Miss Solomon Islands.
Miss Solomon Islands Camilla said she is willing to be the face of Solomon Islands in whatever possibilities Visitors Bureau arranged and assigned.
