Littering attitude can constrains development
DEAR, EDITOR, I view differences in other countries about littering as compare to Solomon Islands.
However, I wish to convey my thought about the attitudes of littering.
As an ambassador of Solomon Islands, I pray one day Solomon Islands will well-off in development by promoting our country free littering region.
Currently, areas of Honiara are flooded with rubbish.
This issue needs to be address by us, that individual must act responsible for rubbish dumping.
Littering is a bad practice, but it is seen as normal practice to everyone.
However, this issue is very small but people easily overlook, this factor contributes a lot to constrain developments.
However, the important tool in order to develop our country is, we must stop our careless attitude of littering.
Development can be achieved if we transform ourselves, loving our country.
Littering reflects attitude at home, and attitude comes from the heart, so this is a challenge that needs to be address, because, the impacts of littering can ruin Solomon Islands if the practice of littering continue to rise every year.
Therefore, I think, it is not from the town council to prepare a solution for us to follow, it is right from each and individual concern about how important is Solomon Islands.
As citizens’ respect for environment is important, so be responsible in habit of littering.
So, a good solution should be; in order to beautify our country we must also beautify our attitudes; this means, kid should be educated at home by parents to acquire the knowledge of littering, because, it is impossible to control the littering if practice is not applied at home.
