Landowners meeting at Voruvoru

LANDOWNERS of lands that have been identified and acquire timber rights through legal proceedings for log ponds, access roads and for concession held a meeting at Voruvoru yesterday to allow Springhill Logging Company to land and start operating in their lands.

The landowners of Tapako, Savetabonto, Pokaesanga and Qoqoli tribes recently resolved a matter between them on a certain portion of land between Tapako and Pokaesanga which all claimed to be their own.

According to Nerio Ulemiki the media coordinator for Christ the King parish at Voruvoru Northwest Choiseul, they resolved the matter through a Memorandum signed by trustees of these tribes to allow access to concessional lands.

As the matter is now resolved, they are ready to negotiate with Springhill Company for final proceedings to land as soon as possible.
