HFA award 2016 winners

HONIARA Football Association (HFA) has award winners of the 2016 men and women leagues yesterday night at Lawson Tama stadium.

CDL Lekas football club from Borderline Community in east Honiara have scooped the 2016 HFA premier division champion title and walked away with a winning trophy, $20,000 and 30 gold medals.

While for Womens’s league, Koloale FC scooped the winning trophy, $4000 cash and 20 gold medals.

Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Chair of Technical Department, Tommy Mana said competitions showed during the 2016 HFA league season becomes tougher and SIFF has seen increase of quality players.

He said selection for Honiara team for the upcoming Solomon Cup will be selected from the HFA league.

“On behalf of SIFF technical committee we would like to see you go forward, and we would like to continue see more quality players.

He has also thanked sponsors, Solrais, Advance Group and others who made the 2016 HFA league are success.

The presentation yesterday was graced by Guest of Honour and Deputy Speaker of Parliament Andrew Manepora’a, Robert Chris from the Prime Ministers Office, SIFF President and HFA executive.
