THE Red Cardim (card) Violence (RVW) against women project has resumed its awareness to help stop violence against women in the country.
The project is aimed at raising awareness to stop violence against women by using sports men in the country on how to be role models and champions both on and off the field.
The project is piloted by the Live & Learn office in Honiara in partnership with DFAT, ChidFund Australia and other stakeholders engages soccer and rugby clubs in Honiara, Guadalcanal Province and Auki, Malaita Province.
Out of the six clubs who are part of this project only two of them has so far showed commitment, kicking off their sessions this week.
“The Auki Tigers rugby club members thank Live & Learn with all its stakeholders and DFAT and ChildFund Australia for their continuous support in providing trainings for its members
“Mathew Maneka of safe family also assisted with the facilitation. All the club members have learnt a great deal of information about good communication,” Live & Learn officer Jackson Toata updated from Auki yesterday.
“Good communication is not only about sending and receiving message but about common understanding between sender and receiver with regards to the message being passed on.
“Good listening is not about just listening but the listener must listen from the heart as well,” he said.

Oceania champions League bound Western United FC also had their RVW session yesterday at their Burns Creek training field.
The topic discussed with the club’s officials and players yesterday was based on conflict.
Western United FC who joined the project last year has shown their commitment to stop violence against women in the country, kicking off their RVW training on Monday.
Clubs involved in the project to stop violence against women in the country are GB United FC, Auki Tigers Rugby club, Solomon Warriors FC, Hana FC, Western United FC and Matangiki Rugby Club in Honiara.
