AN Auki resident applauds the work of the Auki police during the Christmas and the New Year celebrations in Auki.

Joseph Au said, “I really appreciate the work of the police for providing security within the town boundary where it was so peaceful during the festive season.

“This how police officers should be to do daily security as their responsibility.

“I thank the operation team for providing security that I believe all of us have enjoy the 2016 Christmas celebration and the 2017 new year celebration.”

He urges Auki police to keep on their good work in order to make Auki a safe place to live in.

Most communities around Auki celebrated the festive seasons peacefully through sports activities and religious programmes.

Au added that this year’s festivities have been more peaceful compared to past years, where most Christmas celebrations were disturbed by drunkards and some other criminal activities caused by law breakers.

Also during the festive season Auki police have also recorded the lowest rate of arrests during the festive season, Au revealed.
