SIWSAP’s GIS network system in Gizo

SOLOMON Islands Water Sector Adaptation Project (SIWSAP) in Gizo has conducted a GIS water collection network project as part of its additional progress in addressing water supply for the town.

The project was started in September 2016.

According to the Western Province Deputy Premier Hon Maloney Lopoto who is the Minister of Mines, Energy and Rural Electrification, they are trying to identify pipelines, valves and storage tanks under the GIS mapping network system as these are in their data for the town’s water supply development purposes.

“Basing on professional assessment reports is very vital for the flow of projects,” said the Deputy Premier.

“It is from such reports that will make us qualify under the international aid donors criteria’s,” he said.
