Gizo welcomes The World today

THE moment is here as Gizo today welcomes another cruise ship ‘The World’ to the Island Capital.

The mega cruise boat, The World which carries between one and three hundred residents and guests will grace the Island of Njari in West Gizo.

Passengers on board cruise ship ‘The World’ are expecting to visit Gizo Town tomorrow morning.

According to the owner of Gizo Dive Tour, Mr Danny Kennedy, on Saturday, the Cruise Ship will be off from Malakerava and some guests will dive again at Njari Island tomorrow.

He said tourists will be visiting most exciting diving in the world from WWII wrecks to reefs that have some of the highest fish counts in the world at Njari Island.

“Some will go to Titiana for cultural dancing, some will go to World Fish Centre and the others will wonder through Gizo Town,” said Kennedy.

According to the Solomon Island Visitors Bureau’s officer said visitors on board the World cruise ship will be touring exceptional iconic sites around Gizo Island.

Therefore, Public around Gizo are encouraged to respect the tourists on board the mega Cruise Ship.

Meanwhile, this paper understands that The World has already made its first stopover in Matautu Village in Tikopia Island of Temotu Province on Saturday, and second the Cruise ship stopover at the Port Mary Harbor in Gupuna village of Makira/Ulawa province on Monday, and the ship visited Honiara on Tuesday.

On Wednesday the World Visited Njanapuana Island or Pore Pore Island in South Marovo and Sabulo islands north of Marovo Island and today the Cruise ship will stop over at Njari Island.

Tomorrow the Cruise ship will be visiting the shores of Gizo Town and public are expecting to welcomes tourists on board the largest Cruise Ship.
