Second security meeting tomorrow
A second meeting between Honiara City Council (HCC) Law Enforcement and security firms in the City is scheduled for Wednesday (May 31) this week.
Chairman of HCC Law Enforcement Division Eddie Siapu said the meeting is the second, following a successful one held last week.
It is to create a network and partnership with the security firms and the Police.
“More issues and inputs have been raised in our first meeting and the next meeting is for us to continue with our discussions in having a more reliable network,” he said.
He said with the departure of RAMSI soon, it is important for all authorities mentioned to work together for the safety and security within the City and to have security measures in place.
“The meeting is to look into areas in which every authorities concerned can work together and to put in place an understanding and create a partnership to work together for the security and safety within the City.
“As RAMSI will be leaving soon, the safety and security of everyone in the City and those from our Provinces is of paramount importance, and we would like to have all security firms, Police and HCC law Enforcement having a network in dealing with security issues,” Siapu added.
The meeting will be held at the HCC Chambers.
