PCD Advisors named
THE Ministry of Provincial Government and Institutional Strengthening (MPGIS) has over the last month appointed nine local individuals as Provincial Capacity Development (PCD) Advisors for nine provinces in the country.
The Advisors are (1) Adrian Mhynor Toni – PCD Advisor for Central Islands Provincial Government, (2) Charles P Sisimia – PCD Advisor for Temotu PG, (3) Christina Mary Tehegupe Nasiu – PCD Advisor for Renbel PG and (4) Commins Ikioa Talo who is the PCD Advisor for Makira, Ulawa PG.
The fifth, George Tasra has been appointed as PCD Advisor for Guadalcanal PG, (6) Henry Zimbo – PCD Advisor for Western PG, (7) Joseph Kennedy Ramo – PCD Advisor for Isabel PG and (8) Korolyn Zutu – PCD Advisor for Choiseul PG.
The ninth is Mr Paul Wakiorahu who has been appointed as PCD Advisor for Malaita PG.
One of their primary task is to provide technical advice on the Provincial Capacity Development Fund (PCDF) to the provincial government they have been assigned to.
PCDF is a funding mechanism of the Provincial Government Strengthening Programme (PGSP) project, aimed at advancing the objectives of the millennium development goals through improvement of services in the rural areas of Solomon Islands via provincial governments.
PGSP is a programme of the national government that is aimed at developing the capacity of provincial government to deliver services and promote local development.
