DEAR EDITOR, Sr Marilyn Iro, from Malaita Province and who works at the Kilu’ufi Hospital, was this month awarded the prestigious “Nurse of the Year” award at the National Health Conference in Honiara.

Marilyn, who always wanted to be a nurse, has worked in and around Auki and in Malaita since 1990, marking 28 years of dedicated service to the nursing profession in the Solomon Islands.

I extend my personal congratulations to Sister Iro on receiving her award and thank her for her dedicated years of service in caring for the sick in the Solomon Islands.
