POLICE have arrested a man following the death of his wife at Marau Sound over the weekend.

The body was transported to Honiara yesterday by police and taken to the GBR base for post mortem.

Meanwhile, root cause of the alleged killing is still unknown, however police say at this stage they are treating it as domestic violence.

The couple is said to be living on an island all by themselves and no one knew of the incident until they saw the husband crying.

The couple had five children with the youngest child about one-year-old.

Relatives of the victim in Honiara were also there yesterday, and are taking care of the children.
