THE difficulty of communication in East Rennell has been solved by Our Telekom, bringing the internet to Niupani village.

Speaking during the signing of the MOU between Our Telekom and Niupani Internet & Training Centre (NITC) to underpin the project yesterday, Chairman of NITC, Mr Ritzy Paungahenua acknowledged the project as a relief for them.

He said communication is the main problem there, and that Our Telekom’s internet service has broken down the barriers between East Rennell and the world.

“Before we have this project in place, communication costs us a lot as it gives us great efforts to render before connecting with other people through electronic communications. We have to go very far from our area in order to reach the accessibility of network and communicate.

“But with this internet availability, our area is no longer where we were in the past and now communication can now make things easy for us to connect with our friends and relatives elsewhere throughout the world,” he said.

Mr Paungahenua assured Our Telekom that they will take care of the facilities and will make sure the internet project runs smoothly.
