Co-accused into murder incident remanded

THE Prosecution has successfully remanded a co-accused into a murder incident which occurred in 2011 yesterday.

Jeffrey Albert Pai was co-accused with others who already faced court in relation to the alleged murder incident at a village in Guadalcanal.

Since the incident occurred, police did not arrest the accused until December 28 this year.

He was arrested and charged for the alleged offence.

Prosecution remanded the accused as the charge is serious and its penalty is life sentence once the accused is found guilty.

The accused will be remanded in custody for the next 14 days.

John Zoze of the Office of the Director Public Prosecution represents the crown.
