LANDOWNERS of lands that have been identified and acquire timber rights through legal proceedings for log ponds, access roads and for concession held a meeting at Voruvoru yesterday to allow Springhill Logging Company to land and start operating in their lands. THE Solomon Islands Country Gender Assessment (CGA) report launched during the Women’s International Day stated that gender equality is a stated priority of the government of Solomon Islands and all ministries and sectors share the responsibility for achieving gender equality. CITIZENS of Central Islands Province (CIP) appreciate the JANUS operation in arresting Mr Tigi Sikele over allegations of defrauding health fund approved for the Tulaghi Hospital extension project. DISASTER Assessment team led by the National Disaster Management Office, for earthquake affected communities in Shortland Islands in the Western Province, have been completed. Police commend public for peaceful festive session

POLICE has commended the public for peaceful festive celebrations on Christmas and New Year. Police Commissioner Frank Prendergast said though there were traffic related offences, no major incident occurred especially in Honiara and around the provinces.
