Police to investigate harsh treatment on suspects
POLICE will carry out internal investigations into the reportedly harsh treatment received by the two recently captured suspects in the Easter double killing at the LGZ town ground building.
Police Commissioner made the statement in response to queries raised by the media regarding some unpleasant actions reported to have been taken place during the arrests.
“I heard those claims as well and I ask for report today on that from our investigation team who return from Auki.
“And I can assure that if those claims a substantials we will take a very serious view on that,” he said.
Mr Valley said it’s very important to let the process take its course, but at this point in time his office has not collected any evidence to base those claims on.
He said as soon as the reports are collected, they will look into them thoroughly as it will be tasked on the office of the director of the investigation to do the work.
