Peace and Justice workshop for Dominicans
A peace and justice workshop was held at Taro in the Choiseul Province Headquarter this month.
A Dominican Sister Rosemary Kinne who had attended an International Conference on Human Rights facilitated the workshop for the Dominicans and laity of three parishes namely Moli, Sirovanga and Christ the King of the Northern deanery of Gizo Diocese.
The workshop mainly focused on the United Nations declaration charter on human rights as an offshoot of World War II.
According to Nerio Ulemiki the media coordinator reporting for Voruvoru parish, he said that the workshop highlighted human rights violations in the past, present and the future.
“The purpose of the workshop was angled for equipping the participants with knowledge to organise peace and justice awareness workshops and human rights campaigns within their parishes” said Mr Ulemiki.
