HONIARA bid farewell to 2016 on a thrilling note at the Heritage Park Hotel (HPH) carpark during the New Year’s Eve concert count down over the weekend.

Saturday night was fumed with fusions of local talented artists including the band Jam House, artists DAVU, 4D, Rosie Delmah and Caroline.

This included local Disco Jockey (DJ) and Master of Ceremony (MC) DJ Sladcore and Vanuatu based Producer and Guest DJ that night, DJ Tuff Tumas.

Both kept the crowd that filled up the Hotel carpark hyped on what was termed as “crazy Dancehall, Moobahton & Afrobeat set plus some old school Hip-hop, RnB & Reggae”.

Taking the night a little out of the local island music scene was the performances by Adam Katz band and Brazilian dancers from Magique from Australia.

Magique is an agency of unique Australian Performers that are hired for special events

Magique hosts special events during the year including the largest Halloween event: Magique Halloween Circus which is at Luna Park Sydney, Australia every October.

Some of their acts include: Magicians, Hypnotists, Fire Jugglers, Aerialists, Contortionists, Burlesque, Boylesque, Stilt Walkers, Sword Swallowers & more.

For the New Year count down concert over the weekend, Brazilian dancers from Magique had the crowd screaming and shouting nonstop.

Adam Katz Band was also a highlight that night and the crowd appeared to be very much thrilled to have an international band performing towards the lead up of the New Year’s countdown and after.

The concert was held simultaneously in the carpark and Club HP for those who preferred to be in enclosed vicinity.

It was evident that the crowd took the advice of Heritage Park Hotel management prior to the night, to drink and party responsibly on Saturday night, as there were no signs of misbehavior in the crowd both during and after the concert.
