Rape accused still without lawyer
A man charged with raping an eight-year-old girl is further remanded in custody and will appear again on December 13.
The court was told yesterday that the accused is still without a lawyer to assist him with his charge and since the charge is a serious charge the accused needs a lawyer to assist him.
The man was charged in relation to an incident which occurred on September 13, 2014, at a village in Isabel province.
The case was just reported this year and the accused was arrested and charged for the offence.
He told the court that he had already forwarded a request to the Public Solicitor’s office for a lawyer but no response has being made on his request.
The Office of the Director Public Prosecution appears for the crown.
