PM reaffirms strong stand with Taiwan

PM Sogavare said Solomon Islands will continue to stand with Taiwan in his remarks during the fabric handover ceremony yesterday
SOLOMON Island Government reaffirms its continuous stand with Taiwan, pledging to talk about it at the world podium.
Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare, in his remarks during the handover of fabrics donated by a Taiwanese-based American NGO, said Solomon Islands will continue to make its bold stand beside Taiwan.
“As we continue to emphasise whenever we had opportunity to talk about relationship, Solomon Island will continue to stand, and we are not afraid to stand and support you in world podium.
“In September I will be in the United Nations General Assembly, a world debate on world issues, we will continue to highlight that, and your country rightful place in the various agencies in the United Nations.”
PM Sogavare said the Minister for Health and Medical Service Dr Kaitu’u Tautai Agikimua has already done it in a recent World Health Assembly in Geneva, and will continue to emphasise it.
“Our Minister of Health has done it in the World Health Assembly this year and of course other friends in Africa and Caribbean, we stood and continue to talk and not are afraid, we will continue to express to the world until they come to their senses,” the PM said.
