Pacific Eden to again visit Gizo Today

EXCITEMENT is again building for the return of the biggest cruise boat from Carnival Australia to the Western Province capital today.
Pacific Eden will be back for the second time in a month and will be carrying 2200 passengers who will embark at Gizo.
Provincial Minister for Culture and Tourism, Hon Christian Mesepitu said the organizing committee have set up five other venues near Gizo Island to welcome the Cruise ship this morning.
Mesepitu said the Cruise ship is expected to arrive in Gizo this morning and the committee have set up different cultural and traditional activities to welcome the return of this tourist boat.
“We will again close the section of road that begins here at the MSG building to the BSP building today, and it would only be allowed for tourists, tour guides and the general public.
He said the welcome ceremony will be held at the MSG building upon landing of the first tender boat today, followed by the welcome of the visitors by the Western Province premier.
“Traditional ‘Tomoko’ will escort the first tender to the shores to be greeted by a warriors welcome, followed by custom dances and panpipe groups.
He said tour guides, taxi drivers, boat drivers, hotels and resorts owners are well prepared to welcome the Cruise ship today.
