THE Premier of Central Province has announced that McMahon Community High School will introduce form six next year.

Hon Patrick Vasuni made the announcement during the opening of Savo Youth Rally last week.

He said the current Provincial Executive of Central Islands Province is in a process of finalising programmes for the new establishment.

Hon Vasuni also said that his government has already submitted a letter of intent to the government last year to establish a new secondary school at Pavuvu in Russell Islands.

He adds that two other rural training centres are expected to be established in Savo and Russell in the next few years.

Hon Vasuni said the programmes are part of his government’s vision statement to ensure Central Islands Provincial Education system and service are better prepared to provide education opportunities for both young and old people.

He said the aim of the proposed development is to decentralise education services throughout Central province.

However Hon Vasuni said the proposed developments depend very much on availability of funds from the National Government and other stakeholders.

“This goal will be realised when the national government rehabilitation programme is effected in the next few year,” he explained.

Hon Vasuni stressed that the current generation will be leaders of tomorrow and that providing needed services for the current generation will determine the future of Solomon Islands.
