A HONEY-Bee keeping business training has successfully ended last week at Ranonga and Simbo Island in the Western province.
About five villages within the two Islands participated during the bee keeping business training.
The purpose of the training was to allow farmers the opportunity to learn ‘how to understand businesses’ especially those local farmers living in the rural areas.
The training was made possible under a partnership between the Gizo Women in Business Development group and Solomon Islands Small Business Enterprise Centre (SISBEC).
This workshop was made possible by two Solomon Islands Small Business Enterprise Centre (SISBEC) contractors officers based in Honiara.
The two contractors are Mr John Veo and Mr George Dora who are currently carrying -out the Honey –bee keeping business training under the Solomon Islands Small Business Enterprise Centre (SISBEC).
Speaking to Island Sun yesterday, George Dora said the purpose of this training is to educate the people living in rural areas, especially women who continue to venture into other small business activities to help their families and support their communities.
“This training will help them to manage and run their small business, especially Honey-bee projects.”
“This means that they have little knowledge and skills about how to manage their projects, but the core issue here is on how they can understand more in business by educating them with further skills and training,” said Mr Dora.
He said that most of the participants have learn a lot from the training which was well-organized.
He thanked communities from Ranonga and Simbo for their participation and support towards the training.
Meanwhile, founder and the Director of the Gizo Women in business Ester Tali Suti and Stephen Suti Agalo have also facilitated the same training with the people of Ranonga and the Madeguguzu Women in Business from Siombo last year.
The two officers from SISBEC departed Gizo yesterday for Choiseul Province to kick start their Honey –Bee business training with the people of Choiseul under the Women in Business.
