THE Western Provincial Government (WPG) has allocated SBD$1.2 Million dollars on housing rentals this financial year.

Western Province Premier Hon Wayne Maepioh said that Staff housing is an ongoing challenge for successive governments which has resulted in very high rental expenditure in the provincial government budget.

“Nevertheless my government believes good governance and efficiency is the key to effective government machinery and we are seriously taking measures to counter the housing issue and other impediments to the development of the province,” said Hon Maepioh.

Recently over the weekend, a new WPG Staff House worth SBD$772,252.00 dollars was completed and officially handed over in Gizo Town.

The new Staff House according to the Premier is one of the many PCDF funded projects in Western Province.
