Landowning group assist constituency housing scheme

ONE of the landowning groups in the Hograno District, Isabel Province, has stepped in to assist their Member of Parliament with the constituency housing scheme.

Mr Ambrose Motui, who is the head of Bobokana land, is currently assisting communities with timbers.

Speaking to this paper, a church leader from the area Mr Landry Losi said the assistance has made life easier for marginalised people in the rural communities who are financially incapability to source income and cut timbers for their houses.

He said Mr Motui made the assistance with support from Masololo Logging Company currently operating on Bobokana area in Hograno district.

Mr Losi said communities within Susubona and parts of Kolotubi ward have been benefitting from the initiative.

“One factor that I salute this project is that, both landowners and non-landowners are benefiting from these initiative,” he said.

Mr Losi said the approach is a platform that paves a way forward to fully execute constituency housing scheme and also other necessary development.

He adds that the platform is workable for communities to fast track and successfully implement the constituency housing scheme.

Mr Losi stressed that cooperation and effective partnership between Members of Parliament and landowning groups will help the implementation of housing schemes in Isabel Province.

He acknowledged Mr Motui for initiating the assistance scheme for the people and at the same time calls on land owning groups throughout Isabel province to assist their members of parliament with such initiative.
