Australian High Commissioner visits Gizo hospital

THE Australian High Commissioner to the Solomon Islands, His Excellency Roderick Brazier has visited the Gizo hospital in the Western Province.

The High Commissioner visited the various departments and wards within the Hospital.

The Australian delegation was led by Gizo Hospital Supervising Director of Nursing, Edwin Kiloe and Hospital Secretary, Soraya Pina who enable the High Commissioner and delegates to meet with medical staff from each department at the Hospital.

Western Provincial Health Service Director Dr Dickson Boara thanked the delegation for finding time despite their busy schedule to visit them.

“We believe your visit is a testimony of the commitment that the Australian Government and the people of Australia have willingly, over the years offered to help save lives and improve the health of the people of Western Province,” he added.

Gizo Hospital medical staff from different department and divisions witnessing the visit of his Excellency Mr Roderick Brazier and team yesterday.

“I on behalf of the Western Provincial Health would like to acknowledge the Australian Government and the people of Australia for their generous support towards the Health Services here in the Western province,” said Dr Boara.

Dr Boara said assistance the Gizo Hospital Health Service have received from Australia is profitable and helps the lives of people.

In response, the Australian High Commissioner said that as a representative of the Australian government they are very proud that they are able to support Hospitals here in the Solomon Islands.

“I must say this because it is very professional and impressive operation you have carried out serving lives of the people and our support will continue even though RAMSI will leave Solomon Islands, our relationship with the Solomon Island government and people will continue.
