Art impression of Gizo Market viewed by public
THE art impression of phase one on the new Gizo Market Tourism Complex soon to be built had been presented and viewed yesterday.
Presenting the art impression to the general public yesterday at the Gizo Market was The Australian High Commissioner HE Mr Roderick Brazier and the Western Province Premier Hon Wayne Maepioh including their Official delegation.
“After announcing it for some time, the art impression of the Gizo Market that we all have been waiting for is now here for us to see,” Hon Maepioh said to the general public.
“On behalf of the government and the people of Western Province I would like to thank the Australian High Commissioner for coming down to the province and showing us this art impression as it will boost the morale of market vendors towards this development,” he said.
The Australian High Commissioner during his remarks said they are very excited to show the images of the new market complex.
“Having a market is very important for your lives where women in particular come to this place to sell their markets,” said the High Commissioner.
“We hope that when the new market is complete, it will be clean and attractive for everyone to have a better livelihood. This will also make the market environment conducive for international tourists to spend their money here on local products as well,” he said.
“I hope that you will all be very impressed with what you see as I want to thank WPG and it’s Premier for their continuous positive support for the development of this project,” added the Australian High Commissioner.
Funding for phase one of the Gizo Market Tourism Complex is SBD$18,000,000,000.00 Million dollars.
