WESTERN Provincial government is pursuing its policies on youth employment to the max.

Hon Maloney Lopoto said this during Gizo Youth@work graduation on Friday, saying the government under its policy requires a broad front economic development and reform programme to address youth unemployment.

Hon said the provincial government is committed to working closely with the national government through various ministries, vocational schools, tertiary institutions and the Ministry of Finance through macro-economic policy, SINU, TEVET policy frame work to decrease the rate of unemployed youths in the province.

“I’m coming to you youth of today and youth of Gizo Western Province be reminded you that God helps those who help themselves.

“You can start a business with no money but the knowledge and wisdom is not attained behind the doors of a classroom but it’s a gift from above.

“Western provincial government is trying to improve its policy. Therefore, grandaunts you are being reminded that your future lies within yourself and your passion to work, your commitment and dedication to work can be rendered through your performance,” said Lopoto.
