Two SI students graduate from DWU

Solomon Islands students Douglas Idufanua and Liam Sau.
TWO of the nine Solomon Islands students who completed their bachelors programme last year graduated at the Divine Word University’s 35th annual graduation ceremony in Madang, Papua New Guinea yesterday.
They are Douglas Idufanoa, Bachelor degree physiotherapy, and Liam Sau, Masters Degree in governance for development.
Nine Solomon Islands students studying various disciplines were supposed to have graduated yesterday but only these two were able to attend.
13 Solomon Islands students currently studying at Divine Word celebrated with the two graduates.
For Liam, it was a proud moment for him to represent the country, family and himself at the graduation, he said.
“After two years of study, I have achieved my master’s degree,” he said.
“I want to thank the Solomon Islands government for sponsoring me in the last two years.
“Now I got a qualification to contribute back with my colleague for the development of good leadership and governance.” Mr Sau said he could not express his joy enough for having received his Masters in front of 900-plus other fellow-graduates.
Meanwhile, important guests at the graduation were PNG Minister for Higher Education Research Science and Technology Francis Marus and President of DWU, Professor Cecilia Nembou.
