Over the years it was obvious and most talked about in media, venders used cement floor to wash and prepare their goods and seawater for cleaning their produce which is described as unhygienic practice for customer consumption.

At the moment Mr Riunga said, the Honiara Central Market will be transforming its water system by installing stand-up pipes and water tanks because currently water is supplying only the sanitation block.

He said they have try their best, and with those plans it will support to reduce unhygienic practices to look at addressing Keep Honiara Market Clean, although budget still a major challenges that slows its operation.

Mr Riunga said, the Market for Change (M4C), a UN Women project will donate five 5000 litre tanks, and official handover and installation around four corners of the market will happen sometimes soon. Moreover, Mr Riunga said they has been working on putting a separate meter which will support them on water bill because the ablution block was contracted.
