THE Solomon Islands National University (SINU) is expecting major infrastructural transformation if all the projects are completed, says the University’s Acting Vice Chancellor.

Speaking at the SINU’s fourth graduation yesterday, Professor Basil Marasinghe said SINU will soon be transformed into world-class learning institution soon when all the projects are completed.

“As you may have noticed, massive infrastructure projects have commenced.

“Apart from Education Complex in Panatina Campus and Fisheries Complex in Ranadi Campus, there are medium sized projects for every school and a building of a modern Student Centre.

“When all these projects are completed within 12-20 months time, SINU will have most modern and world class infra-structure facilities,” he said.

Professor Marasinghe also said that the University has developed important policies and regulations for efficient running of the university this year.

He said financial regulations, procurement policy, staff establishment policy and staff appraisals procedures are some of the policies endorsed by SINU Administration.

“Our accounts up to December 2016 have been audited by a reputed Auditing Firm and all land and fixed assets have also been audited for the first time.

“We also have a balanced budget now.

“For the first time we have a Handbook and free internet and email services for students,” Professor Marasinghe said.
