PSO yet to confirm legal representation for man

THE Public Solicitor’s Office is yet to allocate a lawyer for a man remanded in custody.

Willie Maelafia is still without a lawyer though requests were sent to the PSO.

The prosecution has told the court that investigations are nearing completion.

Information received from investigators said that only one statement needs to be collected from one witness.

Meanwhile Daniel Kwalai of the PSO said that they are aware of the request but pending allocation.

“Therefore if the matter be adjourned so that allocation will be made and preliminary instruction will be taken on the accused in regards to the charge against the accused.”

The case then adjourned to March 7 for mention.
