Police investigate human remains found in East Honiara

POLICE Commissioner has confirmed that police are investigating the human remains found in East Honiara this week.

The human remains are believed to have been washed down by the flood which occurred in the last few days.

He said that investigators and forensics team of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force were alerted and examined the scene but no reports of suspicious death.

“But at this pointing time I am advised that it looks like it’s an ancestral burial ground for some people around the Guadalcanal area.

“The remains don’t appear at this stage to be new but appeared to be the remains of quite long ago however investigation will continue,” the Commissioner said.

He said police investigation will continue till police are satisfied with their evidence.
