Police Commissioner visits Auki
POLICE Commissioner Mathew Varley was having talks with the Malaita Deputy Premier during his recent visit to Auki last Friday.
Speaking in his weekly media conference he said that he is happy to meet with his officers, the community and the provincial government in Malaita.
He said there has been positive discussion made with the Deputy Premier and he was happy to have heard that the provincial government is supporting the implementation of the crime prevention strategy.
In their discussion the Malaita Provincial government has assured him of their commitment to work together with the Provincial Police Commander and the officers in Malaita province, Mr Varley said.
Mr Varley also said the Deputy Premier also highlighted their confident in the Police officers in carrying out their job upholding law and order in the province.
Meanwhile Mr Varley said that he spent two to three hours speaking with his officers in Auki station before visiting the Market and surrounding communities in Auki.
He said it was a good visit and he was happy talking to communities.
