Police beef up security for next month events
THE Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) is beefing up security for a number of regional events that will be staged in Honiara next month.
Police Commissioner, Matthew Varley informed the media about their preparations to provide security operations during the events.
“We have a number of events coming up next month that includes the 75 anniversary commemoration of the Battle of Guadalcanal which is in early August.
“Adding that in mid – August there is also the Pacific Countries Meteorological Meetings that is from 14 – 18 and the potential for PIDF later in August.
“So we have a very busy month ahead that will require operation wise from the RISPF.
“We will continue to plan for that and encourage people to listen out for details of the security operations,” he said.
