MEMBER of Parliament (MP) for South East Vella La vella Constituency Hon Alex Lionel has clarified the delay of the LC Bilua.
Hon Lionel had recently come under heavy criticism over the delay of repairing LC Bilua under his constituency development plan for the South East Vella La Vella Constituency.
Speaking with Hon Alex Lionel yesterday he said the ship is nearing completion of its repairs and that it will begin service soon.
He said the main idea behind his development plans are to provide changes to development.
“My committees are supposed to be the champion to develop in securing projects and funds for the people living in our constituency.
“The constituency is currently experienced a high number of people’s demand and this need large amount of money but we are looking in our budget allocated for the constituency.
“We spent about 100 hundred thousand dollars apart from the cost of the ship that we paid rental monthly.
“We are still work on the matter of the ship to fully complete the ship and we looking forward to complete the whole requirements of the LC Bilua next year and we will operate the ship for the constituency,” said Alex.
He said he will prioritise the ship for transportation around South East Vella Constituency as part of his development plan.
