More scrubs for Honiara

Scrubbing in front of the Museum area. This is what HCC is planning for other streets in Honiara
STREETS in Honiara is expected to undergo more scrubbing.
This is according to Honiara City Council’s (HCC) plans for its Works and Environment Divisions
A Works Division staff yesterday said currently HCC is gearing up towards the plan.
He said the plan is gaining momentum and has already been piloted, thus the council is throttling speed to beautify the streets of Honiara.
“Looking at the front of Museum area beside the main road and in front of Art Gallery area, this is some of the street scrubbings HCC is planning to carry-out in our streets.
“This is where we started as we begin with the project and we’ll move on to other streets in Honiara.
“We think of starting the project in a smaller way and move on as the project continues.
“So the work expects changes in restructuring the streets in Honiara as what has done at the front of Museum and Art Gallery.
“This is what exactly the clear picture of what HCC said ‘street scrubbing’ as the approach taken to beautify the streets of Honiara,” the staff said.
Meanwhile, public is being called on to respect public facilities and amenities.
The HCC staff said places like roads, walkways and whatever public facilities on the street are not to be littered with rubbish.
The street scrubbing work at the Museum area and Art Gallery was funded by the NZ Government.
