Mbumburu death a case of murder suicide
POLICE Commissioner Mathew Varley has confirmed yesterday that the tragic death at Mbumburu area last year was a murder suicide case.
Mr Varley said the information and assessment provided to him about the findings and experts’ opinion gathered during that investigation and also the forensics reports and enquiries indicate that this is an alleged case of murder suicide.
He said the case files about the incident occurred to the couple at Mbumburu November last year is with the Public Prosecution office for legal advice to make sure police had covered all the avenue of the inquiry.
“At this pointing time the experts opinion from the pathologists and other large enquiries as well as information gathered from the crime scene and other witness indicates that the case is murder suicide involving the wife and the husband,” Mr Varley said.
“However those reports do not mean we are closing the case to any other items of inquiry or fresh information that may come into light.
“We forwarded the file to the Director Public Prosecution for review and should other lines of enquiry be identified then we would be seeking further advice from the Magistrate’s court and the coroner as to whether they wanted to conduct further enquiry into that case or whether they are satisfied with that report,” Mr Varley added.
This is in relation to the tragic death of a couple in November last year where the husband and wife were found dead at their home at the Mbumburu area.
