Fitzroy FC claims JF International Cup

Marist futsal team crashed out of the 2016 JF international Futsal Cup yesterday after losing 3-1 to eventual competition champions Fitzroy FC.

Fitzroy knocked Marist FC in the second semifinal yesterday and then defeated Sunshine Coast in the grand final match yesterday in Lismore, New South Wales, Australia.

Marist trailed 2-1 at half time and then conceded one more goal in the second half to see them claim a 3-1 win over Marist.

Marist futsal team is expected to arrive back this week.

Meanwhile Marist FC who are the new TSL Champions have announced that they will be without their four Papua New Guinea imports.

PNG internationals Daniel Joe, Koriak Upaiga, Tommy Semmy and David Muta have played a vital part this season for Marist helping them win this season with 40 points.

The four are said to be ready to re-join Hekari FC for the Oceania champion’s league campaign next year.

Marist FC are pooled in Group D for the championship next year. They are pooled alongside Tefana FC of Tahiti, Rewa FC of Fiji and Malampa Revivors of Vanuatu.
