SIBC Radio Hapi Lagun was hit hard by a lightning strike two weeks ago which damaged its main studio console.

The incident occurreed on Friday January 30 between 7 – 8pm

According to the Provincial Station Manager (Gizo FM 96.3) Mr Sina Adrian, they would like to advise their keen listeners that their local service broadcast for the region in the next few days will continuously be affected.

He said the provincial station is still awaiting the damaged part of the console to be repaired by their Technical Department in Honiara.

In the meantime, Mr Adrian said they have recently re-launched their National Service relay on the SIBC online service yesterday.

The public of Western Province can now follow up on all national programmes on SIBC.

“To our valid clients and customers, hopefully by this weekend we should be back on air with our normal regions service, we regret for the inconvenience caused as it is beyond our control,” said Mr Adrian.

“We appreciate your kind understanding,” he said.
