Gizo Police partrol boat prepare to provide security services surrounding Islands
GIZO police will carry out high visibility operations into the festive Christmas and New Year period throughout the province.
Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Vincent Eria confirmed that there will be high police presence during this Christmas and New Year celebrations to keep public order and maintain free movement of people.
In an interview with Island Sun Gizo yesterday, Vincent Eria said some of his officers will go out in numbers to maintain public order to other communities in the surrounding Islands and along the street of Gizo.
He said police continue to make several arrests on alcohol related offences this week and urges public to behave during this festive session.
“We warn the general public to behave and show respect to our community elders, Chiefs, Church leaders and our visitors from surrounding provinces and other country who currently here in the Western Province.
“We expect good behavior and maintain the same spirit as we are all ready to celebrate this festive session to mark this celebration a memorable for our province.

“We need your support and working together with the work of the police to ensure we all keeps our law and order,” he said.
Therefore, he warned that police will not tolerate antisocial behaviours, and has urged Gizo community and visitors to work together with the police to make sure a safe environment for all during this Christmas and New Year Celebration.
