Gizo drivers told to take care

DRIVERS are being cautioned to take extra care when driving along Gizo road.

This comes after a tractor’s scooper smashed into a private-owned Toyota Hilux on Saturday at Gizo in front of the town’s Hot Bread Kitchen.

Acting Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Vincent Eria said it is important to drive slowly along Gizo road to avoid road accidents.

Eria told Island Sun Gizo yesterday that such narrow road like Gizo, and with the deteriorating road conditions, drivers need to take extra precautionary measures while driving and concentrate when driving along the road.

He said drivers must drive slowly and must be careful when driving along the road.

“We must take extra care and think safety first before driving along the main Gizo town.

“This is the most terrible accident compare with the recent accidents, therefore drivers always think safety first and drive safe.

“We must learn from our entire mistakes to make good decision and put safety as your first priority before driving along the road,” said Eria.

He said drivers must limit their speed and always think of others when driving along the narrow roads within Gizo town.

Meanwhile, Eria thanked his officers who immediately responded to the accident over the weekend in Gizo.
