Build on peace: RAMSI Special secretary

JOHN Wasi, RAMSI’s Special Secretary has appealed for the nation to build on its founding principle of peace.
Mr Wasi was among the officials who attended the ministry of national peace, stake holder’s meeting last week.
Mr Wasi emphasised on cooperation and security in his address to the stakeholders.
He told them that they must work together in their respective communities, abide the law and follow Christian values.
“Let us be united, let us see ourselves as Solomon Islanders.
“Let us build a platform for our children.
“We have a responsibility of leading our people in communities in the right direction,” he said.
Mr Wasi also spoke in support of RAMSI’s work.
“They have created an opportunity for this country to move again,
“Let us build a RAMSI legacy, build on peace,” he said.
In terms of security, the Special Secretary mentioned that they are working on national security in partnership with the ministry of police.
He explained how highly important issues under the status of national security will have an impact on the economy.
Mr Wasi implied that under immigration, chemicals or products of any variety can be smuggled into the country and bring in disease to people or harm to our crops.
He also touched on “border currency” and stated that without security in our borders we will not know how many currencies are illegally entering the country.
